Summary: The latest Bang Baby in Dakota City has the ability to create dimensional vortexes.

Author's Note: 20 Minutes with Fred Challenge, not enough sleep and a hunt for a crossover not done yet.

Dakota City

"Gear! Watch out!" Static shouted even as he flew toward his friend. The latest psychotic Bang Baby had Gear in the sights of her freaky vortex.

"STATIC!"

"You get her. I'll get Gear!" Static shouted trusting Batman and Nightwing would take down Warp as he flew directly into the vortex Gear got sucked into. He'd gotten used to Batman showing up now and again, and since Warp had kidnapped Robin, both Batman and Nightwing were in Dakota. Robin was rescued and at the abandoned gas station Static and Gear used as headquarters recovering. Why Warp had targeted Robin was a mystery but then again why did half the metahuman criminals even think of doing most of what they did.

Los Angeles

Fred Burkle nibbled on her taco staring at the walls covered in writing. Angel said she should try to come downstairs sometime soon. She was considering it. Maybe. Cordelia, Wes and Gunn seemed nice enough. No one was downstairs now though. Cordelia had a vision. Demons and a sacrifice and the world ending. So they were off taking care of that, but they'd ordered her tacos before they left.

She cringed back in terror as the vortex opened in her bedroom ceilling.

She scrambled for the crossbow Angel had given her and shown her how to use incase he ever lost his soul.

Fred blinked. Two very oddly dressed boys fell out of the ceilling the first landed on her bed with a grunt. The second landed on the first which cause shouts of "OW" from both.

"Dang, Richie, Backpack is sharp" the second one said sitting up and rubbing his chest.

"Yeah, well, you need to lay off the chilli cheese fries, Virgil."

Fred aimed the crossbow. "I--I can use this"

The boys eyes widened as they noticed her.

"We're not going to hurt you." the blonde boy with what looked like a visored bicycle helmet on said. "We're not even sure where we are. Backpack's data is making no sense."

Fred frowned noticing now the very faint stream of numbers and symbols streaming in the visor.

"My name's Static and this is Gear." the other said. "We're the good guys. We were fighting Warp with Batman and Nightwing. Gear got hit by one of her Vortexes and I went after him."

Fred chewed her lip.

"Static according to Backpack we're in another dimension."

Fred, still clutching her crossbow made her way back to her sack of tacos in the sitting room. She crouched on the floor in the corner, crossbow next to her, marker in one hand and taco in the other.

The two boys followed watching her oddly. They thought she was crazy. Maybe she was. See them spend five years in Pylea. They'd be crazy. Dimension. Vortex. Return. were scrawled on the wall.

"What do you mean wrong dimension--and are you okay?"

"Is it an alternate reality or another dimension. There's a difference" Fred blurted out in a rush before stuffing nearly half a taco in her mouth.

"Where are we?"

"Los Angeles. Do you have a Los Angeles?"

"Yeah" Gear agreed. "We have an LA."

Static stared as the young woman rocked back and forth with her tacos and crossbow, scribbling on the wall now and again. Gear at least seemed to be catching her strange comments and making sense of whatever physics problem she scrawled on the wall.

"What is this? Something like minimum security Arkham?" Static looked around at the walls.

Gear shushed him.

"Simple where it belongs reversal" Fred pronounced nervously three hours later. "Wesley can do it."

Dakota City

"Static! Gear!" Batman called loudly as he saw the two boys fall from the ceilling. They had been missing nearly 50 hours. Mr. Hawkins had covered for Richie saying he was taking the boys on an impromptu trip and was worriedly pacing in the abandoned gas station with Batman, Nightwing and Robin. Oracle was on the communicator and had been ruthlessly trying to calculate how to reverse the effect of the vortex since she'd been informed of what happened.

"You need to lay off the chili cheese fries, Richie," Static groaned shoving the other boy off him.

"Virgil! Richie! Boys, are you alright?" Mr. Hawkins was helping the two boys up and pulled his son into a hug.

"We're fine, pops. Just a strange trip. To Los Angeles in another reality."

"We had to wait for the Vampire, the Seer, the street kid turned Vampire hunter and the Spellcaster to get back from stoppign demons from opening up a portal to hell before they could send us back. Fred kept us company, Mr. Hawkins. She's a bit scrambled but really smart."

"Well you'd be scrambled too if you were a demon slave for five years" Virgil snorted.

"Boys," Mr. Hawkins and Batman frowned in near unison.

"It's a long story...." Virgil began.

"It always is," Batman said drily.
