"Petty!" Lily Evans called after her sister. "Petty, please I need to talk to you!"
Twenty-two-year-old Petunia Evans Dursley stopped, turned and stalked back to her sixteen-year-old sister. "I don't want to hear it. I have to go, my train leaves in an hour, Vernon will be upset if I don't make it home."
"Petty, please,"
"Just go home, Lily," Petunia glared not sure at all why she'd agreed to meeting with her younger sister at all. If she hadn't needed to do some shopping in London anyway, a new dress for the dinner at Vernon's company, she would never have agreed.

"Bloody hell! Dalton, where is she?" Spike roared. Dru had been in one of her moods all day. The kind where she wanted to go into the sun to find flowers and danced around at noon because the stars were singing.
Drusilla had gotten to the point she'd been arguing with "the stars" as they sang to her. That she wanted the pretty flower for her own and the stars were mean for not allowing Dru to have the pretty flower.
Spike had managed to creep through the sewers late that afternoon once Dru had finally settled. He had a boquet of flowers and a slightly stoned twenty year old prostitute that looked a good five years less than that. Flowers and a snack for his Dark Princess..who'd knocked Dalton on his arse and went in search of the flower the stars had been singing about all day while Spike had been gone. The instant the sun had set, Dru had bolted.
"Soddin' Hell!" Spike snarled and ordered the half dozen minions to go look for their Mistress. He grabbed Dalton by the arm and the two of them went in search of their mad Sire.

"There you are,"
Lily stopped still. She'd had supper after talking to Petunia and taken in a movie. She had to wait until after dark to summon the Knight Bus after all which, now that the sun had set was what she'd come to the alley to do. She couldn't very well summon the Knight Bus on a busy street after all.
"Do I know you?" Lily frowned at the strange woman. Long dark hair and an antique gown of black, that probably didn't seem as strange as it should in London after five years at Hogwarts.
"The Stars have been singing," the pale skinned woman sing-songed. Her voice was truly odd, half childish, half mesmerising.
Lily wanted to reach for her wand in her bag but didn't dare. She couldn't risk getting expelled if it wasn't necessary. The Ministry was coming down excedingly hard on the mildest infractions. Just two months before Gordon Weasley had been sentenced to a year in Azkaban for using magic in front of a muggle when he and his brother Arthur were attacked by a pair of Death Eaters and a Muggle accidentally saw it all.
The dark haired woman swayed more than walked closer, twirled once before stopping in front of Lily. Dark eyes held green captured like a deer in Wand light. The woman's finger tips were so cool as they trailed over Lily's cheek and down her neck, tracing the girl's collarbone then the slightly low neckline of the blouse she wore.
Lily swallowed.
The woman licked her lips.
"Do--do I know you?" Lily stuttered, a hitch to her breath as those cool finger tips kept touching her throat, her jaw, back to her collar bone.
"The stars sang to me of you, Little Flower,"
"S-stars sang?" Lily half squeaked half gasped as the strange woman leaned against her and nuzzled at her ear and the side of her neck.
"They sing to me, they've always told me their secrets, that's why my Daddy chose me,"
"You--you're a --" Lily broke off with a gasp as a cool tongue traced the curve of her ear. Panic and the faintest bit of arousal, which brought horrified confusion along with it, coursed through her veins. She was in an alley, in London. Alone. And this strange woman was rubbing against her and licking her ear. Still, she didn't quite want to move and that was madness in and of itself. "Seer" the last word whimpered as the cool tongue traced down the column of her throat
"Mmmmmm" the woman hummed and Lily shivered as she felt the rake of teeth over her neck. The woman rubbed against her again!
Lily wanted to run. Why couldn't she? What sort of spell had the woman cast to hold her like this...some sort of hypnosis?
"I bet you would taste so sweet, Little Flower," the strange woman husked into her ear. "But the stars say I can't have you...the Stars send you dreams, and you're a naughty girl who doesn't pay attention."
Lily choked back a yelp of pain as her earlobe was bit sharply. Then licked and sucked at, the odd sensations chasing the pain away and leaving something more unsettling in it's wake.
"Stars sing songs, little flower, of the lightning to come."
"L-lightning?"
Teeth raked along Lily's neck and she found herself backed against the wall of one of the buildings lining the alley.
"The Bumblebee's busy but he doesn't see." the strange woman giggled. "The Lightning is the one, not the Hart." She spun away twirling around with her arms stretched wide laughing madly.
Lily cringed back against the wall and whimpered softly in fear.
"Green light means you're dead," the woman stopped still. "The stars told me so," she added in an eager whisper, like a small child telling something of great importance.
Lily swallowed. Green Light. The Avada Kedavra.
"But the Green Light won't hurt the Lightning. Lightning's special."
In a blink, faster than any human should be able to move, though Lily by now was certain whatever this woman was it most definitely wasn't human, the woman was back, pressed against her, pressing Lily into the wall of the building she was leaning against.
Damp cool breath, that held an underlying scent of...death...ghosted over Lily's lips as the strange woman's face was now kissing close.
"You tremble little flower, oh so sweetly. Naughty stars won't let me have a taste of you. Leave you to be crushed by a nasty Riddle. Such pretty flowers should be savored not crushed." The woman pouted then leaned forward and bit Lily's bottom lip then suckled on it. And then the kiss, if it could be called that changed and a cool tongue invaded Lily's mouth, the coppery taste of her own blood and something else, blood but not, older, richer, darker.
"Claimed you mine, little flower, and a curse on the one that kills you. My blood's passed your lips and I've the lightning will grow strong as he should. The stars told me so." the woman smiled pressing close against Lily and petting her hair. She leaned even closer and whispered in Lily's ear. "The rat is a rat" then spun away laughing again.
"DRUSILLA!!!" a male voice carried from down the street.
"My Spikey is worried, he's come looking. The stars sing, Little Flower, they sing to me. And when they whisper in your dreams, listen, Little Flower, because the Lightning needs you to."
"DRUSILLA!!!!!!" the voice came again "DRU WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!!!"
The strange woman was gone so quickly it was almost as if she vanished into thin air.
Lily leaned against the wall shakily as she tried to make sense of what had happened. She hadn't told anyone, not even James about the strange dreams.
She reached in her bag for her wand and held it out with a thunderous crack the Knight Bus appeared. She paid her fair and brushed off the elderly conductor's questions about her well being.
She wasn't well. Not at all. She didn't know if she would be again. Her mother had died, her sister refused to come and visit their father. Then that strange woman---Drusilla.
She was so tired but she didn't dare sleep, afraid the dream would come again. The dream where James died and then the flash of green light came toward her while a baby cried.
She glanced at the two day old Daily Prophet that someone had left on the bus. More Death Eater attacks covered the front page.
"Here, Miss, spot of tea, on the house if you don't go tellin no one we have tea, and you got it free of charge, like, understand. Just supposed to serve hot chocolate. But you looked like you could use a cuppa,"
"Thank you," Lily nodded and gratefully sipped at the tea in hope of washing away the taste of that woman...Drusilla's blood in her mouth. She just wanted to go home. Forget the fight with Petunia which had been less a fight and more her sister being purely vicious when Lily tried to convince her to visit their father. Forget the strange woman in the alley, forget the awful dreams. Floo James and...what have him tell her it would all be just fine?
It wouldn't be, but for some reason that seemed alright now because she knew with a certainty the baby that cried in her dreams would live. And somehow, that made it alright. And that fact caused even more confusion. Somehow she'd manage what was thrown at her, she just had to remember the baby would live. Whose baby? When? She didn't know.
This summer had been hellish, starting off with her mother's death and her father was withering away. He'd even said as much that Petty didn't need him any more, and Lily wouldn't for much longer. Lily feared he would grieve himself into the grave next to her mother while she was away at school. Petty, judging by the conversation that afternoon, didn't seem to give a damn at all.
The Death Eaters attacks were getting more and more violent and frequent. Julia Pennyworth had been in Ravenclaw. Lily had sat next to her in Charms for five years. Julia and her entire family were dead. Killed a week ago by Voldemort's followers.
The dreams that had been almost continuous the last month. James body falling to the floor dead in a flash of green light. That same green light coming towards her just before she woke up. And the crying baby she never saw.
She took another swallow of her tea and stared at out the stars. "Don't sing to me...I don't need to know." Lily whispered. "I don't want to know."
"Pardon, Miss?"
"Nothing, just thinking aloud," Lily said quickly.
"Your stop in just a bit."
Lily nodded and looked back out the window. The stars held many secrets. She didn't doubt that, but after meeting Drusilla, she now more than ever didn't want to know them.

"Dru-luv, why'd you run off like that? Scared the unlife out of us," Spike said after pulling back from Dru's enthusiastic greeting. She was giggly and happy, and acting all together off, even for Dru.
"Had to find the little Flower, Spike" Dru said suddenly serious. "The stars told me too."
Spike clenched his teeth and managed to bite out "Did you find the flower?"
"I found the flower," Dru said wistfully. "Stars wouldn't let me keep her though. She would have been so sweet, would have been so lovely in our little family. Pretty little flower to go with My Spike and My Dalton."
"S'alright, Pet, Dalton and me have all we need with you, luv. Right, Dalton?" Spike assured Dru quickly, too wrung out to deal with a crying jag or a tantrum after the long day. Dru hadn't had a day she was quite this off for a long time and he'd forgotten how exhausting they were.
"Most Certainly," the shy bookish vampire agreed.
"My lovely boys," Dru cooed. Then spun away from them twirling a bit. "I want to go dancing. Spike, take me dancing."
"Alright, luv, dancing it is," Spike agreed, relieved his Dark Princess was starting to seem more like herself now that the stars had stopped singing for the day.
